Mozilla Labs is developing a new social "feature" for the Firefox browser called
The Coop (this can be translated as "chicken coop"). The appearance is fully consistent with the name - a kind of "pen" in the right side of the browser, where all the faces of all friends are collected. Through this panel, you can exchange messages, links and share content by simply dragging the file onto the face of a friend.
If you click on any friend, a list of his new photos on Flickr, new YouTube videos, blog posts, etc. immediately appears on the screen. Probably, it will be possible to make an extension to integrate The Coop with Habr, the browser will display the number of new texts and comments of the user, his karma, etc.

The social panel will be integrated with various web services and pump up information from there. It looks quite interesting and is very similar to the implementation of
Flock's “social browser”, made just on the basis of Firefox with the addition of similar functionality. Actually, on
the project's wiki-page, developers openly admit that The Coop's idea came to them precisely under the influence of Flock.
