What is more important idea or domain?

On the one hand, it sounds almost like “I have a cool name for the company, let's think about what it will do?” What do you think is the most profitable to build there? ”
Immediately recall the story with the domain sex.com. I do not mean that it was stolen, but about the fact that it was not only somehow sold for wild money ($ 14 million), but without any tricks it brought its owner millions of dollars a year. I was once very pleased with the owner of the domain pivo.ru, who wants to sell it for $ 1 million, but recently he hasn’t done anything for this at all. At least something would support the blog on this domain.
Still, more often the idea of the site is first thought out, and the domain is already being sought. They are a lot of different for sale. And even if a very desirable domain is not for sale, it’s not a fact that the current owner refuses to sell it. Question: What do you think, what percentage of site success can a domain make? And what other sites do you know where the domain played a significant role?
