Malicious programs can be passed through file servers running Linux that target other components of a heterogeneous network, for example, workstations running Microsoft Windows. In addition, despite the acknowledged reliability, Linux operating systems also need protection, because every year the number of malicious programs created for these systems is steadily increasing.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Linux File Server is an anti-virus solution for protecting most types of file servers running Linux. This product replaces two other applications of the company - Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.7 for Linux File Server and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Samba Server, combining their functionality, which was supplemented by a number of new features.
The architecture of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Linux File Server allows multi-level protection of file servers in modern Linux and heterogeneous networks simultaneously at the level of the entire file system and at the Samba server level.
The product has significantly expanded the application administration capabilities. Firstly, a new web interface has been implemented - Kaspersky Web Management Console, which allows you to fully manage the product from a browser on any computer. Secondly, in the final release of the application, support for all centralized administration capabilities through Kaspersky Administration Kit will be built in.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux File Server 6.0 supports all new 32-bit and 64-bit distributions of Linux operating systems such as Red Hat, Fedora, SUSE, openSUSE, Debian GNU, and Ubuntu. Compared to previous versions, support for the Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 platform and the Novell NSS file system has also been added. This will make it easier for Novell Netware users to transition to a new operating system.
Kaspersky Lab invites you to participate in the beta testing of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Linux File Server. Guest reviews are submitted to the address linuxfs@kaspersky.com in a free form, but must include two points - opinions on the product itself and on the use of the Kaspersky Web Management Console.
