I want to bring to your attention, as for me, the easiest way to organize a graphical remote terminal, and I will try to submit it as simply as possible.
And so, I present to you
NX NoMachine .
NX allows you to run a remote X11 session with a client for all popular platforms, such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris, and a server for Linux and Solaris (also in development, the server supports Windows and Mac OS platforms). When I came across this information, I immediately thought, why do I have a Windows NX server, they also have the RDP protocol, but after the first installation, I made sure that NX works fine, even through a slow network connection, without any problems, that can not but rejoice. In addition, NX can also connect to a remote RDP and VNC server, which you agree is nice and eliminates the need to use a bunch of clients.
Figure 1 - KDE remote session and client on Windows Vista.NX is provided both on a paid and free basis (the free version limits the number of connections to the NX server to 2). I will not particularly dwell on setting up this product, since on the official website, in the
documentation section, everything is very clearly described, I will show, perhaps, the setting process for your beloved Debian.
')
Let's start with the fact that the system should be X-server and the shell, I tested gnome and kde4, and was absolutely satisfied with the result.
The next stage, we go to the page of the company in the
Download section and see a lot of useful and joyful for the admin's eyes. But today we are particularly interested in NX Free Edition, a free server, and NX Client Products is the client part.
Let's start with the server. For all Debian-based distributions, choose NX Free Edition for Linux DEB, be vigilant and choose the right architecture.
And so - the server side: for the preparation of a wonderful product, we will use the three ingredients nxclient, nxnode, nxserver and hopefully that the dish will turn out excellent. And now a few commands:
Attention, you need to install in strict order. Minimum requirements for successful work
- 400 MHz processor
- 128 MB RAM
- 35 MB free disk space
- Network (local network, or Internet channel not lower than 33.6 Kbps)
If you’ve done everything correctly, the server should already be running, and this can be easily checked with the command / usr / NX / bin / nxserver --status, and the correct answer:
NX> 900 Connecting to server ...
NX> 110 NX Server is running.
NX> 999 Bye.
If everything is correct, proceed to the client side, in the
Download section, select the desired platform and install.
Start and see the connection wizard window,
www.nomachine.com/screenshot/linux-client.php - a set of Linux client connection screens,
www.nomachine.com/screenshot/windows-client.php - it looks the same in Windows.
Having passed some simple steps we log in and we receive connection. If you are working on a local network or the information is not secret, encryption can be turned off.
I wish you a successful use, I am waiting for comments, and I hope that it is written quite simply.
