Separation from reality

The topic is published in the framework of Friday on Habré. =)
At first glance, a completely weakly connected series of events. But I think on their basis you can build some kind of concept for the development of the web, at least I will try.

After watching both versions of the “What is a browser?” Video ( 1 , 2 ), I finally became convinced that the web developer cannot be at the level of a simple user not experienced by all progressive technologies.

At the same time, over the past few years we have had a rather rapid growth of Runet in Russia ( 3 , 4 ), and I think that social networks (in the picture is shown only on VKontakte, just because its statistics were available in the free search, 5 , 6 , 7 ) influenced quite actively, while we are seeing, even not against the background of rapid growth, rather we feel a decrease in the level of a simple user (quite a general remark, but damn it, he should understand what a browser is and where it is located.)
You can even say that the user is dumb, but by the way, why not, I completely agree with the Ingolmo article on steep thinking ( 8 )

And last summer was, in my opinion, a very interesting post Youri_M4U about the future of the web (probably also in the framework of Friday on Habré, 9 ), which referred to the alleged introduction of access to sites by subscription since 2012.
In addition to all this, the giants of the web industry are developing technologies that can greatly change the web, at least greatly modernize it. I am talking primarily about RIA (Adobe AIR, Microsoft Silverlight, JavaFx, and others), as well as about the technologies that come from browser developers — Internet Explorer Administration Kit ( 10 ) and Build Your Own Browser ( 11 ). Indeed, why does a simple user have the entire Internet, when he is replaced by a social network.
RIA and not only allow to open these services as a separate application, and some technologies allow to do this cross-platform and, more importantly, to use mobile devices. Given the emergence of search engines that work on the question-answer principle, we can assume that they are highlighted in applications, and then the phrase “I use Google” will not cause any confusion.
As a result of all this, we get double profit - users unprepared for the harsh realities of the web, including as a result of profitable economic proposals from providers, go deep into social networks, and we as developers have a reason to create more interesting services and applications without fear to be misunderstood.
Probably all, I will be glad to comment.

ps Now I think that the presentation of Google Wave should have been noted on the diagram, because it’s all from one berry field. But I think this event is still fresh in my memory, let it remain as it is.

pps Sorry for being so messy this is my first post on Habré, so please do not judge strictly.
