As
promised , the processing company
ChronoPay yesterday disconnected from its platform sites that do not have the license of the collective management company
FAIR . Thus, the resources operating on the basis of the license of the
ROMS company , a direct competitor of FAIR, have lost the opportunity to receive payments through ChronoPay. As a result, four online music stores were “hit” - mp3spy.ru, mediadome.ru, ligalsounds.com and alltunes.com. 15 sites heeded the new requirements of ChronoPay and obtained licenses at FAIR.
ChronoPay recognizes that with the disconnection of the designated resources, the company will lose part of the turnover. According to Pavel Wroblewski, general director of ChronoPay, losses could reach $ 1 million. Anyway, the company intends to work only with FAIR. This company intends to collect 50% of the profits from its licensees and send the funds received to the right holders - in addition to the 10% royalties. Each store with a FAIR license will undergo an audit without fail - ROMS does not carry out this procedure.
Right holders, meanwhile, do not believe that actions to transfer stores to FAIR licenses will help reduce the level of piracy in the market. “It’s not like fighting pirates,” says
Gala Records general director Alexander Blinov, “for us FAIR is the same pirates as other similar organizations. Most likely, this is a struggle between two pirate organizations that divide the market. ”
