This post is a question. The question is partly rhetorical and a little bit holivarny.
Do you consider it normal to advise people on the use of unlicensed software?
My job is mainly counseling people.
I answer a lot of computer questions. Questions about hardware and software.
For more than two years now, I have refused to advise people if the questions concern stolen software. I will not punish the authorities, it is not the fear of the authorities and not laziness. This is my moral position.
A simple conversation example:
')
- but my *** is not updated, I downloaded the database, but he still does not want ...
- Do you use the licensed version of this antivirus?
- that is not of course! it's *** rubles worth
- sorry, but I will not give advice on working with unlicensed software
- ???? !!!
About 90% offended, of whom 30% of acquaintances (and they are sooooo very offended).
And I understand perfectly well that updates are not downloaded for another reason. If we consider the same example, then the problem may be with the Internet connection and I’m talking about this to a person. I try to enumerate and, if possible, help eliminate all the problems that relate to hardware and other legal software.
Do you think this situation would motivate you to acquire legal software or just offend?
What do managers in computer stores usually do with you or your friends?
