Martin threw a link to the Adobe Strobe . Adobe is going to roll out an open source framework for developing flash media players in the third quarter of 2009 (until the end of the summer).
As a person who has been developing flash video players for almost two years, I can't help but rejoice at the initiative - but the question, as always, is in the final implementation. As far as I understand the FAQ , I’m most interested in CDN integration (they promise plug-ins on the content providers side) and the overall architecture, because the architecture of media players is almost always at the forefront. As well as a system of plug-ins for Strobe and the interaction of Strobe with other Adobe applications.
If they succeed, and Strobe will be flexible, fast and expandable - this framework will greatly facilitate my life. And many other developers.
