The
Finmarket Agency, which supplies economic and financial news, will join the
Interfax international information group. The latter has already agreed to purchase 90% of Finmarket shares.
One of the objectives of the transaction, the amount of which is not called, is the exit of Interfax to the Internet market. According to Mikhail Komissar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, Interfax, which is mainly engaged in providing information to corporate clients by subscription, has practically not developed a business on the open Internet. The new asset, by calculation, will correct this situation.
“Finmarket”, having entered into the structure of “Interfax”, will be able to use the news and analytical materials of the latter. All projects of the acquired agency - “Personal Money”, RusBonds, “Finmarket RealTime” - will receive appropriate support from information materials and services.
“Personal Money” will be developed along with information services for consumers of financial services; the
RusBonds project
is going to be made the main resource for the bond market in RuNet (due to, inter alia, the unique data of the SPARK database developed by Interfax and the information disclosure system of issuers);
“Finmarket RealTime” in the future will take a leading position in the provision of exchange information for participants of the Russian market.

According to Denmarket Evstigneev, CEO of Finmarket, the new content and services that Finmarket will be able to use will attract thousands of new users interested in financial and economic information to the agency’s Internet projects.
