Here is a list found once in a long-abandoned blog English-speaking project manager. Unfortunately, the blog address has long been lost, but the list itself, with minor corrections, turned out to be very useful in its work — I look at it weekly. It helps to bring thoughts and information on the project in order.
How much time do I spend on problem solving? My job is to prevent them. What can I do to find the source of the problem or prevent it?
Are there new risks? Are the risks close to their implementation? Are there undocumented uncertainties? Has the importance of risk changed?
Is everyone busy? Does everyone know about the date of the current release version? Do you know the date of delivery of the next stage? Everyone must EXACTLY know what they have to work on and for what they are responsible.
Did I say NO this week? People always want to add functionality to the project. I shouldn't let them do this (usually). See that the team is not engaged in perfectionism and embellishment.
Are there any delays? With the help of the team change the plan to achieve milestone tasks.
Was there contact with all project managers and customers this week? Communication is the key to success. Do they know their roles? Are we waiting for something from them in the near future? Check your communication plan!
Is there quality control?
Does anyone have to work on the project, are working on it this week?
What have I done this week to improve team cohesion?
Is the work plan for the week realistic? Do the estimates for all tasks fit into 40-80 hours? Are the assessments accepted by the performers themselves?
Do all people have everything they need to complete the work on time (do they need information or do they depend on the results of other people)?
Have I updated the problem log? Risk log?
What does the team think / feel this week about our goals and the project itself? Did they approve the work plan? Would they approve it right now?
Are there any requests or suggestions for changes that need to be assessed or approved before we implement them?
Are there conflicts that need resolution?
Are there any major problems that you need to tackle? What about minor issues?
