FreeCall in Ubuntu

I will not dwell on all the numerous advantages of this service - I’ll dwell on the minuses: the native client is designed, essno, on Windows . (by the way, it’s not difficult to install it in Wine , but after 1C, it’s not a problem.)

Half an hour of polaziv in the Internet and not finding a clear step by step instructions on how to adapt the ip-phone from the above supplier to the harsh realities of ubuntu decided to write his own:

First of all, we are convinced that Ubunta did not forget to drag with her and put Ekiga . (If you suddenly forgot, name @ host will help : ~ $ sudo apt-get install ekiga ).
Next, run it. In answers to the questions of the wizard, you can not particularly strain, write anything. Anyway, then change everything :)


Poke Edit> Accounts there right click on your chosen name and again Edit.
In the window that appears, change:

Name: Name when registering at freecall.com
Registrar: sip.voiparound.com
User: Name when registering at freecall.com
User: Name when registering at freecall.com
Password: Password when registering at freecall.com
Delay: Leave the default - 3600
Do not forget to leave tick "Enable account"

Poke Edit> Options. In the window that appears, change:
General> Personal information> Name: Name when registering at Freecall.com
Protocols> SIP Settings> Outbound Proxy: sip.voiparound.com
Protocols> SIP Options> Redirect URL: sip.voiparound.com
Protocols> H.323 Parameters> Redirect URL: sip.voiparound.com





When dialing, the number should look something like the following: sip: +7XXXXXXXXXXX@sip.voiparound.com But as practice has shown, Ekiga can also substitute this excess into the dialed number. The main thing to dial a number in the international format.
