On November 15, the last, in-person stage of the
TopCoder Collegiate Challenge 2006 will begin, which is actually the student world championship in sports programming in the individual competition. Unlike other major competitions held in the individual competition (
Google Code Jam and
TopCoder Open ), only students and graduate students of higher educational institutions are allowed to participate in this competition. This time 3088 players from all over the world took part in the selection.
From November 15 to November 18, 48 programmers will meet in the semi-finals and final of TCCC 2006 in San Diego, USA. The competition schedule is as follows:
November 15 - semi-final 1
November 16 - semi-final 2 and semi-final 3
November 17 - wildcard round
November 18 - the final

It is pleasant to note that this time the delegation from Russia takes the first place in number - 16 people. The next most representative delegation is China (6 participants). The onsite rounds of TCCC 2006 included the winner of this year’s GCJ Peter Mitrichev, as well as Andrei Stankevich, who took third place there, and Andrei Khalyavin, who managed to win 4th place.
