African schools should access the Internet over the next 10 years. Such work is supposed to be done in the framework of the special e-Schools project launched under the NEPAD economic development program (“New Partnership for African Development”). In its implementation, which began in 2003, companies such as Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Oracle, AMD and Cisco are taking part.
During this period, more than 600 thousand educational institutions around the continent, except Morocco, will have to internet. While the project is at the testing stage, different approaches to the use of information technologies in the educational process are being studied. Supposedly, a special satellite network will be created for the internetization of schools.
