Sources at Google reported that the daily number of hits videos on Youtube has exceeded 1.2 billion. This is several times more than Comscore, Nielsen and other independent agencies. The fact is that they use a not quite correct methodology and try to take into account only the American audience. According to them, YouTube gives out 5.5 billion (Nielsen) or 7 billion video clips per month for the US audience.
In fact, the numbers are much higher, and Google experts themselves can be trusted to believe. Interestingly, this figure is well correlated with the number of Internet users in the world (it is about the same), that is, you get an average of one movie per person.
YouTube has no decent competitor on its market. If you believe the new information on the number of views, this service controls 72% of the online video market. The shares of the closest competitors do not exceed 4-5%.
