The great Chinese firewall seems not to be working effectively enough. At the very least, the Chinese authorities set out to tighten Internet censorship. According to the new decision of the communist government, from July 1, 2009, the filter-program of unwanted sites should be pre-installed on all new PCs sold in China.
Of course, the rationale for such a tough measure is chosen quite specious: the fight against child pornography. The list of sites to block will be updated through an online database and will not be available for viewing by users.
The Green Dam and Youth Escort software designed for installation was developed by Jinhui Computer System Engineering and Beijing Dazheng Human Language Technology Academy. The decree on the mandatory installation has already been published on behalf of the Ministry of Information Technology. ')
