The French have launched their own digital library Europeana
Americans who have long been translating books and documents into digital format (take the same Google Books ), have followers in Europe. French specialists announced the opening of Europeana , a digital library where over 6 million books, films and documents will be collected.
True, these millions appear only in the plans, but for now about 12 thousand materials are available to visitors. 23 public libraries in Hungary, Italy, Germany, Poland and Spain volunteered to help the French. The only “official” language of the library is French, while most Internet users are closer to English.
