Anti-piracy dogs find DVD by smell

According to news agencies , the Malaysian police conducted a special operation, in which 35 000 pieces of pirated discs were covered. In the search they were helped by an Irish labrador named Paddy (in the photo). This dog Malaysia gave the association MPA. The dog was specially trained to recognize chemicals used in the manufacture of disks.

Apparently, the organization Motion Picture Association (MPA), which protects the rights of filmmakers, began training dogs that can find CDs by smell. And this is only the first precedent, and in the future such dogs may appear in Russia.

Unfortunately, Labrador Paddy is not yet able to distinguish a licensed DVD from a pirated one by smell. But these discs probably smell differently, because they were made at different factories using different technologies. So the service dogs still need to train and train.
