The development team of
thirteen23 never ceases to amaze us with its interesting developments. They combine excellent services (such as
Twitter ,
Netflix , etc.) with powerful technologies (WPF and Silverlight), and eventually produce applications that we enjoy using. Let me remind you that these very people released Twitter client
Blu .
And today, their new development - TED Talks. What it is? This is a video player that allows you to view videos from
TED.com in a convenient way (smart people share their vision of the present and the future on this site). Moreover, this application was made using Silverlight 3 technology. It was in the third version of SL that support appeared to work outside the browser, which uses TED Talks.
Actually, to install the application you will need to pre-install yourself Silverlight 3 Developer Runtime (supported by Windows and Mac) from
this page. After that, go to
the TED Talks
application site and click the “Install” button. A pop-up window will appear in which you need to choose where to place the shortcut for the application:

')
After starting the application, you can immediately start watching the video:

You can search for the video you are interested in:

Unfortunately, the video with the Russian translation through the application will not work. I hope that in the future version of the program this will be fixed.
In general, a very interesting application that demonstrates the work of the new SL3 feature.
Try it! :)
