On May 25, an unprecedented incident occurred in New York - Times Square, famous for its traffic jams, endless neon signs and flying over it. Spider-Man became available only to pedestrians. Now on the square in the lounge chairs are located tourists and locals.

This decision was made in February by the mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg. Traffic is closed in areas between 42nd and 47th streets in Times Square and 33rd and 35th streets in Herald Square. The exclusion of any type of transport should lead, according to the authorities, to improving the air in the city center, simplifying traffic, reducing accidents,
PROFIT! and the convenience of tourists.
Movement at the “crossroads of the world” will be limited at least until the end of the year, after which, depending on the results, this practice of introducing pedestrian zones will be continued and expanded or closed.
“Only now can you see Times Square for real,” say residents. Tams Square, netimes Square, but on June 7, in this pedestrian zone of about a hectare, you can see a live broadcast of the Tony award ceremony, the main American award in the field of musical theaters, on giant screens.
