Electronic elections to the European Parliament in the screenshots

The elections to the European Parliament will take place on June 7, but already today Estonian citizens can cast their votes via the Internet. Being, in fact, a citizen of Estonia, I decided to vote and show how the voting process proceeds.
And so, to give a voice, you need an ID card (a smart card, which is also a document, like a passport. You can read it on Wikipedia, but in English) and a card reader. Go to the website valimised.ee (elections.ee), insert the id-card into the card reader and remember the PIN codes to it.

Next, choose a personal certificate from the id-card ...

... and enter the first pin code

Here we are greeted by name. We check the correctness of the personal code and click Next.

We will be informed once more, for the sake of loyalty, that we have reached the official e-election site in the €-parliament and that the vote has the same power as with the traditional method of voting.

The most important stage. Choose the party for which we want to vote or individual candidates (they are listed below) and click on Select (Valin)

Here we check whether we made the choice ...

... and enter pin-2, which equates to a digital signature

That's it, we voted. Here it is reported that the choice made can be changed. In electronic form today or June 3, or on a paper newsletter on June 1 and 3. On election day, June 7, the choice will not be changed.
