The US District Court has banned Vonage’s VoIP provider from using Verizon’s patented technology to connect to phone lines, creating a very dangerous precedent.
The fact that Vonage really violated three Veizon patents relating to the provision of VoIP services, it became known in early March. The patents described the technology of transferring calls from a computer to a landline telephone, as well as call waiting features.
Now Vonage has to pay Verizon a fine of $ 58 million, and the leaders of the rest of the VoIP providers can stock up on valerian or urgently start developing their own technologies that Verizon cannot complain about. ')
