Cisco has released mobile repeater robots

If a cellular subscriber tries to leave the access zone, the mobile robot will begin to pursue the "fugitive" in order to ensure him a good quality of communication. A group of such repeaters can line up to the nearest base station and quickly conduct a communication channel to any remote area. A robot messenger is able to follow a person in virtually any terrain.

The prototype of such a unique device was shown at the military technology exhibition Military Technologies Conference in Boston. Reportedly, this technology was created as part of the Cisco Information on the Move project.
