Beltelecom announced expansion of the external channel to 12 Gbit / s

Since May 19, the data transmission channel in the direction of Russia has increased from 6 Gbps to 10 Gbps. Bandwidth to the west has not changed. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian monopolist .

Now the total external Internet gateway Beltelecom is equal to 12 Gbps .

According to unverified information , this time Rostelecom was a partner of the Belarusian monopolist, and the purchase price of the external channel was $ 18.5 per 1 Mbit / s. Let me remind you that the previous expansion in the direction of the Russian Federation happened quite recently - on March 19, 2009 - from 4 Gbit / s to 6 Gbit / s, and the external Internet gateway was 8 Gbit / s.

Now Beltelecom resells the channel to providers 50 times more expensive than it buys (compare $ 18.5 for 1 Mbit / s, purchased from Rostelecom, and $ 932 (excluding VAT) for 1 Mbit / s for national Internet service providers).
The media wonders: does Mr. Tikar really think that Belarusians are so rich that they can afford to buy the most expensive Internet in Europe?
Being, as the leadership of the country likes to emphasize, in the center of Europe, the Belarusians, they are end users, continue to pay $ 135 per anlim (= 370000Br) with a reception / transmission rate of 512/256 Kbps.
For comparison, in the neighboring - no, not Lithuania - Poland 1024 Kbps for physical. faces cost about $ 24 (= 75.5 zł = 65490Br).
