Index20 will insert ads directly into the ICQ message box
On March 29, Agency Index 20, an exclusive ICQ mediaseller in Russia, presented a new advertising service, offering advertisers to broadcast advertisements in the “window” of the ICQ online pager in real time. The new advertising platform is called Broadcast-to-User (B2U) and allows you to display an advertising message directly during the communication of ICQ users. Thus, it will not go unnoticed. However, anticipating dissatisfaction of users of “ICQ”, the creators of the new service tried to make advertising in messages less intrusive: during the day the user receives a limited number of advertisements of flash-format, which are displayed in the upper right corner of the message window. Advertisements "shrink" to the size of the logo with a hyperlink. Advertising delivery does not interfere with the conversation: the background of advertising messages is transparent and does not darken the text.
Index20 has already launched advertising campaigns for brands of some of its customers in the B2U format: “B2U opens up the opportunity for advertisers to work successfully in familiar conditions for the audience,” says Dmitry Mozhayev, Index20 CEO. - We believe that the proposal will cause a keen interest among our customers. "
“B2U allows advertisers to target an audience of users that interact with each other in a friendly environment. Advertising is seamlessly integrated into the text field, it is neatly framed and does not create the effect of obsession, - said Ofer Oved, vice president of ICQ. - We consider this a new, uncovered area for advertisers. This service has a high growth potential. ” The B2U campaigns first appeared in Europe in late 2006 - early 2007. Advertising campaigns lasted from 2 days to 2 months and their CTR-indicators were incredibly successful: on the first day, the average CTR reached 6.06%, and for the entire period - 3.39%. In Russia, the average CTR was 11.5% on the first day of the campaign, and 7.53% for the entire period, respectively. ')
Today, ICQ has over 5.6 million active users in Russia. And more than 1.8 million of them use Rambler-ICQ program (the program was launched in 2005). 60% of Russian users are people who are between 13 and 34 years old.
The global reach of the ICQ audience today exceeds 22 million active users. 80% of users under the age of 30 daily communicate at least 5 hours a day via ICQ. The main interests of ICQ users are games, music, movies and extreme sports.
