How did geese help American pilots save fuel?

As part of the research conducted by NASA , the American pilots, taking an example from the goose flock, tried to fly a wedge, and found that this way you can save up to 14 percent of fuel! The Pentagon liked the goose idea and already allocated money for further research in this area.
