Father, have I sinned?

In the light of recent events around the Pirate Bay and the increasing number of detentions for using unlicensed software, the opinion of the habra people on this aspect of the issue of piracy is interesting.

Would you (or have you already) done this at a confession about using broken software? Do you consider this a sin? Does this violate the commandment - "do not steal"?
