Hello, habrovchane. Today I would like to introduce you to the most popular IM clients for the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music smartphone.
So, what are we going to test today?
- QIP PDA Symbian build 2000
- Slick v0.47
- IMplus 8.05
- Nimbuzz 2.0
- Mobile Agent 1.16 beta
- Fring v.3.37.20
QIP PDA Symbian build 2000
With the new QIP assembly, nothing happened with us - it doesn’t take touch at all, and, unfortunately, it looks awful.

Slick v0.47

The client is probably not a bad one. Its main advantages are the display of a notification about a new message, a convenient system for switching tabs, a simple interface. On the other hand, there is no native support for the Russian language, very few opportunities for individual adjustment, well, a very buggy system for adding contacts.
IMplus 8.05

Multiplatform, good opportunities for individual customization, easily mastered - IM + client. But, about the minuses. The need for registration (to be honest, they did not understand what they want from us - whether they buy or just register on the developer’s website), the lack of Russian.
Nimbuzz 2.0

The most interesting client. It supports just a huge number of different services, including SIP - telephony. Beautiful, convenient, easy to configure, supports the Russian language, works fast. But, from the minuses, problems with the encoding are noticeable (in which cases it is not clear, most likely, because of the use of jimm by the interlocutor of the client - they most often had problems.
Mobile Agent 1.16 beta

Overloaded, incomprehensible, muddled client. It supports skins, you can read mail on it (ha-ha), multi-protocol (but, again, the set of services is limited to ICQ, MRA, Jabber). At the same time, it manages to brake terribly, not to send messages, and fly out.
Fring v.3.37.20

Good client with multiple protocol support. Can scramble last.fm, supports twitter. Unfortunately, fring does not know how to break contacts into groups, which is why, in fact, it is easy to get confused, especially if you use several protocols at the same time. Sometimes it crashes, but this is a problem for almost all customers - the platform is new, many are still in beta testing.
As a result, stopped at Nimbuzz 2.0.
I apologize in advance - I can only respond to your comments tomorrow. Thank you for attention.
