The Supreme Court canceled the mandatory registration of color printers in Russia

The Supreme Court of Russia overturned the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 10/10/1994, obliging owners of color printers to register them with the police. In this case, the owner of a color printer should:

1. Designate a color printer manager.
2. Make a complete list of persons (with surnames and passport data) who are allowed (including for health reasons) to work with a color printer.
3. Constantly have available all the documents on a color printer: a passport, a purchase receipt, a hygienic certificate.
4. To issue a magazine (necessarily stitched), accounting for printed products.
5. The room where the color printer is located should have been equipped with alarms, steel doors and other security measures, and the printer itself should be kept in a safe.

The Supreme Court made a decision on the claim of citizen Kiryukhina V.V., which considered that the rules for registering printers violated Article 55 her duties, not statutory. The Supreme Court agreed with the applicant
