Scientists from the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have developed a pavement that can recharge electric vehicles. As part of the proposed program, the municipal transport network will be equipped with filling stations designed to provide power for electric vehicles.
The enterprising Koreans decided to install on the roadway special strips from 20 to 90 centimeters wide and up to several hundred meters long. Cars powered by electric motors will be able to recharge by simply driving through them. To do this, you need to install at the bottom of the car elements of magnets and windings that will allow to obtain electricity without direct contact with the roadway.
The ideas are few - Koreans have already built (on the territory of the institute) a prototype of such a road, on which they conduct tests. And soon, according to the developers, the technology will be tested on public roads. ')
According to scientists, it is enough to cover only 10% of the entire road network with special tapes to ensure the “comfortable existence” of electric vehicle owners. However, according to preliminary calculations, the whole thing will fly a pretty penny. The cost of installing a single power strip is estimated at almost $ 320 thousand.
