HP recalls laptop batteries. 70 thousand devices at risk

About 70 thousand lithium-ion batteries, installed in HP and Compaq laptops, can spontaneously ignite, reports ZDNet with reference to the statement of the American version of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It is known about two recorded similar cases, however, ended without consequences for the owners of portable devices.

At risk - laptops that were on sale from August 2007 to March 2008, in all price categories - from $ 500 to $ 3,000, purchased, including in the online stores hp.com and hpshopping.com. In addition, we are talking about separately sold batteries ($ 100 and $ 160). The picture below shows the party and serial numbers of these accessories.
