The share of netbooks in the notebook market has reached 20%
According to preliminary data from DisplaySearch, in the first quarter of 2009, 5.9 million netbooks were shipped worldwide, and their mass share in the laptop market grew to 20%. Primacy in the market in terms of the number of netbooks delivered is confidently held by Acer, which accounts for 30.5% of all devices delivered to the market - almost twice as large as that of its closest competitor, ASUS. HP remains the leader in the full-length notebook segment, with a market share of 24.1% or 7.3 million units.
