Search LiveInternet - not for Ivy and Nosik

The LiveInternet portal, which unites the statistics collection system, the blog platform and the dating service, has updated the design of the main page, coinciding with this moment the test launch of its own search engine.

The new search engine is not going to compete with Yandex and Rambler, and even more so with Viktor Lavrenko , says the head of LiveInternet.ru, German Klimenko. At the moment, this is a kind of study of what can happen if we combine the search on sites and statistics. The system developed by the company does not index the entire Internet: in its database you can find only those sites that use LiveInternet statistics. The difference from "competitors" Mr. Klimenko called the fact that with the help of the statistics system it will be possible to more closely monitor the behavior on the site of a visitor who got there through a search engine.

At the moment, the system is in one of the early stages of testing. According to the head of LiveInternet, the company search engine will not be able to pass the “Ivy test”, the essence of which is to ensure that when searching by his last name, Mr. Pluschyov sees his blog in the first place in the search results. Herman Klimenko believes that so far the new search engine is “not for Ivy and not for Nosik.” (By the way, the "Ivy test" is still passed .)

According to the head of LiveInternet, now this is a research project, and it is low in cost: only one server is involved in its maintenance. Developers are faced with tactical tasks: there are several reports that are not yet visible to users and will be available only after a while.

And how successful the idea of ​​combining statistics and search will be will show time: now in the company they themselves do not strongly represent the prospects for the project. If he fails - it will simply be closed, without much regret: "statistics - in the first place."
