Windows 7. Burning discs

It so happened that when I installed Windows 7 (RC 7100), I did not inquire about programs for burning CD / DVDs, including creating and burning images. I hoped for Roxio Creator, which I used on both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Accordingly, one day, at the right moment, I realized that Roxio on Win7 does not work, and, the system hangs completely and only the Reset button helps. I found a solution in the form of copying the milcore.dll library, downloaded from the Internet, to system32. Did not help. The same result.

Well, having understood that you can forget about Roxio for a while, downloaded Nero , received a trial key, installed it and surprised the result no less: the system thought for a long time, and then involuntarily rebooted. Solutions for Nero, I did not look.

I complained about the problem to my friends, I was very surprised when I learned that they were not even interested in solving this issue, but stupidly returned to the old OSes.

Digging into Google, I found a couple of programs: one for burning discs ( BurnAware Free ), the other one works fine with images ( ImgBurn ), as I later found out. I didn’t even know about these softinks. I tinkled with them for half a day and was pleased.

')

It should be noted that the programs are free (there are limitations in BurnAware)

And now the slides (as in the old joke):

Burnaware free

Nothing complicated. Three types of disks (CD, DVD, Blue-Ray), for each its own window, the same functions

Burnaware free

Window for selecting files (in my case, just Data disc)

File Selection Window

Russian is present

Imgburn

notice how simple and clear everything is

Imgburn

and a window with a huge pile of settings

Imgburn

there is a Russian language (it is available on the download page of the program, though not all are translated).

In general, I was satisfied and I see only huge advantages:

Free (important!);

There are no extra "features", such as the creation of any slideshows, viewers of media content (such as players, and programs for viewing photos);

Intuitive interface, nothing superfluous;

Works on Windows 7, which is the most important.

I apologize for not setting up the options. I believe that manufacturers should deal with such reviews.

Why did I write this

I have not seen anywhere resources that do not push software, namely review;

I have never seen any list of software for Windows 7, the so-called. "Must have";

I think that not one got into this situation with the recording of the disc.

I hope someone other than myself helped. I never wrote any program reviews, so get my opus right.

Once again, download links:

BurnAware Free (8.55 MB)

ImgBurn (1.94 MB + Russian 20.6 KB)

PS Dear, if someone uses some interesting and free software for burning (for Win7, respectively), please write.

UPD Thank you Xmpe for the program InfraRecorder
