Nanoloy, or how to make a logo that will surprise

There are many ways to stand out among competitors.
The simplest and most correct way will be to do something unique and surprising. This is definitely not forgotten.

When we started our thinkit.ru project, we, like all curators and creators of blogs, had problems attracting new authors who could write cool and interesting articles. We tried to interest them with prizes, money, and even hell knows what ...
For a long time it seemed to us that this it-blog would only live on articles that we would write ourselves. Many read us, but nobody wanted to write.

After some time, the situation has changed. People interested in our materials reached out to us. Then they started writing themselves.

Thanks to these people, we have a whole cycle of articles about nanotechnology, which is so fashionable today. The guys from TIT SFedU who work with NANOFab told in human language about these very “nanotechnologies”, and as examples they made a nanologic for our blog and recorded a unique video with etching this logo with an ion beam.

A few explanations - the installation on which all this was done was called FEI's Nova NanoLab 600 with a very wide range of possibilities and tasks, one of the directions of which is the method of researching structures and the formation of nanoscale objects using focused ion beams (FIP). Describing the principle of operation, even in brief, will be tough, but the idea is that sharply focused gallium ions bombard the substrate in a needy place, where partial removal of material and amorphization of the surface occur.
