Microsoft Corporation will first issue bonds

Microsoft has announced the first issue of its own bonds in the amount of 3.75 billion dollars. This is stated in the official press release published on the company's website.
It is assumed that the securities will be issued in three blocks: two billion dollars will be issued bonds with a maturity of five years, a billion dollars - ten-year securities, and 750 million dollars - papers with a maturity of 30 years. In total, Microsoft's board of directors approved issuing bonds of up to six billion dollars.

International rating agencies Moody's and S & P assigned Microsoft Securities the highest reliability rating - AAA, Bloomberg notes. Thanks to this rating, the corporation will be able to get borrowed funds at low rates and for a long term.

Microsoft’s decision to raise additional funding is most likely due to a decrease in corporate profits. So, in the first quarter of this year, the company's net profit amounted to 2.98 billion dollars, which is 32 percent less than in the first quarter of 2008.
