Lithuanian media proudly
announce that their small country has come out on top in the world in terms of Internet speed. True, they allegedly lead only in the speed of upload, that is, the return channel (8.08 Mbit / s), and in speed of the downflow, that is, the forward channel, occupy only fourth place (11.28 Mbit / s). This is the
global statistics of the Speedtest.net service for all Lithuanian Internet users who have come to measure the thickness of their channel on this site. The number of tested users from Lithuania is not reported (perhaps only one person?). In general, Speedtest.net performs about 20 million tests per month.
The reliability of Speedtest.net statistics (namely, the numbers at 11 and 8 Mbit / s) is confirmed by the representatives of the hosting provider, Norwegian Hostex, which has data on actual users.

In terms of download speed and data acquisition, only South Korea (17.83 Mbit / s), Japan (16.07 Mbit / s) and Sweden (11.55 Mbit / s) are ahead of Lithuania now. Japan (7.49 Mbit / s) lags behind the leading Lithuania in terms of sending data, Bulgaria ranks third (4.43 Mbit / s).
Russia takes the speed of the reverse and direct channel 5 and 10 places, respectively. Moldova - 9th and 11th places. Belarus - 69 and 82 places.
