Useful video

The online video has a reputation for something frivolous and entertaining. However, in reality, this is just a format, not guilty of the fact that it is used to distribute "Yozhin s Bazhin" or "Guitar". There are several video resources that store a collection of files that may be useful for self-education. My colleagues at “Ruformator” found several such services.

1. Youtube Edu is not an independent service, but a channel on Youtube. The content is very colorful - from university lectures on matan to a video about teenage pregnancy. It is important that almost all videos are somehow generated by either universities or companies with a strong research spirit (such as Wolfram). Now I myself am in the process of studying a course in solid state chemistry . The materials of the channel have become useful for me not only in terms of knowledge, but also in terms of the ability to express my thoughts. Courses with subtitles help those who wish to pump not only the subject, but also English.

2. Video-English is designed specifically for those who want to learn English. It is necessary to listen to video clips, and then put the words sounded in it in the correct order. In parallel, you can watch the translation of the resulting sentences. As fragments - again, public lectures of various smart people like Steve Jobs, interviews, news records.

3. Prime Life - reports, interviews, and the thoughts of Russian do-erov. I can say that I look at the “Economy and Business” section as a whole. Klimenko (Liveinternet), Nosik (BFM), Sebrant (Yandex), Artamonova (Mail.ru) are only those Internet users who are represented on Prime Life. The site is closely integrated with "Theories and Practitioners of Moscow" - a site about edutainment events (education + entertainment)

4. Skillcast - the most "serious" of all sites. Now there are only 23 lectures on the site, they are mainly devoted to business issues: HR, financial forecasting. The site is of Latvian origin, so a couple of lectures are specific to Latvia. The price of one lecture - from $ 15 to $ 80 - includes video viewing and various handouts (PDF with text, XLS with an example of calculation).

Online video is already used not only for entertainment and viral distribution of funny videos. If you have more interesting examples of edifying videos on the web - let's share them with brief descriptions right in the comments. It may turn out a good selection.
