As reported by Engadget, the company NorhTech recently announced the first netbook running on conventional finger-type batteries (AA format) - Gecko EduBook. Its official premiere will be held at Computex in June of this year.



Immediately about the main thing - according to the manufacturer, 8 ordinary nickel-metal hydride batteries will be enough for a Gecko EduBook netbook for 4 hours of work, and the same amount of AA lithium batteries will be enough for a netbook to work for 6 hours. Netbook processor power consumption - only 1.2 watts.
If desired, you can install in the netbook and the usual battery, which is enough for 6 hours of work.
