Belarus is included in the list of 13 countries-enemies of the Internet
It was published by Reporters Without Borders international organization . In addition to Belarus, the list included such countries as Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, China, North Korea, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Uzbekistan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and Vietnam. The list compilers explain the reason for blacklisting a brief description of the state of freedom of speech on the Internet in each of these countries.
About Belarus says so:
“The government has a monopoly on telecommunications and is not embarrassed, if it is necessary, to block access to opposition websites, especially during elections. Independent online publications are also often hindered. For example, in March 2006 (during the presidential election), several websites critical of President Alexander Lukashenko mysteriously disappeared from the Internet within a few days. ”
