QIP - Minute of hate (history on the server)

During the week (or I just started receiving notifications), QIP launched some kind of gadsky service called MBlogi . The essence of this service is that the statuses that the user puts in a pile - post in this “blog” a la Twitter as separate posts. And this is absolutely without the knowledge of the user. And without asking me if I want to receive email notifications about new posts on these blogs left by my friends. That in itself is a rather unclean move and a manifestation of disrespect for users. On the one hand, there is a violation of the privacy - I do not want my statuses to shine anywhere, on the other hand, the actual imposition of an unnecessary service on me.

Further. Yesterday, or even tonight, the site QIP.ru, forum, blog of the main developer was lost. About it on Habré is still actively spoken . It is through this discussion that I learned that QIP REMAINS keeps the Jabber history of correspondence on the server. At the same time, as a user of the program, I don’t even suspect about it, I don’t see any such settings in the “settings / history” section and naturally nobody asked me if I wanted to save my personal correspondence on the server.

Further. You can delete history from the server in only one way - by deleting selecting 20 messages in each individual contact. Ie if you like to talk - now you will delete very long and hemorrhoids.

And in QIP there is such an option - to authorize you on the site automatically. This means that you are constantly logged in to qip.ru and anyone who sat down at your computer can enter the history and read, even if the QIP is turned off and under the password.

It looks like the storage of history on the site in the program is not mentioned at all, only on the site itself you can turn it off. At least this is what the line in the menu header says. But bad luck - after turning off the preservation of history, it still remains ...
