New film by Ray Kurzweil

Following the ideas of the most famous prophet of the oncoming singularity, Ray Kurzweil, a new documentary Transcendent Man was released , which is dedicated to the same topic - the inevitable transition of humanity into transhumanism due to constantly accelerating scientific and technical progress ( review in the New Scientist magazine ). In his opinion, people in general will cease to exist within a few decades, and voluntarily. At the same time, transhumanism, merging with AI, will give humanity immortality.



The documentary film presents different opinions of scientists and journalists, including alternative points of view on the problem. Neil Gershenfeld from MIT interestingly expresses: “Ray takes things that everyone agrees with, and extrapolation principles with which everyone agrees, and on the basis of all this makes predictions that no one agrees with”.

Hugo de Garis, a hardware developer with evolutionary support, also said well: “Will I design these machines if I know that they are likely to put an end to humanity?” My answer is yes".
