May 7 - Radio Day
Today, exactly at midnight, I was by tradition at the building of my university (RGRTU-Ryazan Radio Engineering University), which I graduated last year! By tradition, on the night of May 6 to 7, former and current students come to the uni building to celebrate the holiday and to honor the memory of the great inventor of radio Alexander Stepanovich Popov . as a rule, more than 1000 people gather. And in the afternoon, all who can come to Ryazan (of course, those who studied in Radika) come to RGRTU; in my memory, I have seen issues 25 years ago. Also this holiday in the university and next to it is allowed to sell the sacred drink "beer".

Monument to Popov ("Your work lives")
according to tradition, gifts are brought to the monument: memory, prots, motherboards, power supplies ... and very poor students can then assemble themselves a not so bad car))). So, according to tradition, everyone who comes to the event should have some kind of radio detail with them to exchange with friends. (analogue of eggs for Easter)

The photo is bad, but another such tradition, the execution of which I observed every year while I was studying. The one who climbed onto the roof of the uni, was eliminated in the same year at the summer session, and so it was with everyone. You know, no one climbed this year, they were probably scared to want to learn))).

In 2003, on May 7, on the Day of Radio at the stadium of the Ryazan Radio Engineering Academy of the time, an auto-da-fe was produced in the form of the burning of stuffed Guglielmo Marconi.
This act of faith was carried out by representatives of re @ ligion as part of a project to canonize the famous Russian scientist Alexander Stepanovich Popov, who is the real inventor of Radio (May 7, 1895 at the meeting of the Physical Division of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society at St. Petersburg University Popova), as well as actually canonized Russian radio engineers and other representatives of the technical intelligentsia.
Radio Day, is considered the day of Holy Popov Sunday and is celebrated as the holiest holiday of all believers in the electrical signal.
