The developers of quite popular extensions Adblock Plus , designed to block unwanted advertisements on websites, and NoScript , aimed at improving user security by blocking scripts running on pages, conflict with each other.
The developers of NoScript after each update of the extension version, send the user to their site (although they have written that such an action should be performed only in case of a significant update *), where they also place ad units that Adblock Plus should, in theory, cut out. For a long time, the bug in the anti-advertising extension allowed NoScript developers to add their site to the Adblock exclusion list. When Vladimir Palant (the developer of Adblock Plus) corrected this error, the NoScript developers took the wrong step and embedded in the next version of their offspring a code aimed at disrupting the performance of Adblock Plus.
After this became known, a complaint was filed with Mozilla and NoScript acquired a new version, already without malicious code. However, a little later, the extension was updated again and added a subscription * to Adblock Plus, in which NoScript sites were listed in the so-called “white list”, which again disrupts the anti-advertising extension.
Once again, a complaint was filed and once again this dubious utility functionality was removed from NoScript ... How long ...
