How I moved to Ubuntu
After reading the adventures of reinvigorate , I decided to share my story, if not a transition, then acquaintance with Ubunta.
I tried a little on virtual and live CD, nothing is clear, like the same thing, just a little different. And then I drove the old laptop FudzhitsuSiemens 128MB 700MHz. It did not have WiFi, therefore I attached a D-link USB stick. All anything, but the connection appeared 2 times a day for 15 minutes and this is 3 meters from the modem. Fussing with the drivers did not help and the idea came to try Ubuntu on this laptop, especially since Wind barely tossed over there.
I tried to start 8.10, 9-ka then still not out. Because of the old CD, the installation took about 3 hours, it’s good that she didn’t need my participation. The only thing that broke his head over sections.
And now everything is established! After the first boot, I plugged in the USB WiFi, scored the iP, and ... lo and behold! Inet earned! I checked for a couple of days and came out 9.4. I decided to install Xubuntu. The whole process was completely repeated, with the exception of sound. But probably all the same driver I have to find and install. On the office did not find.

I will not find more manuals in Russian to be thoroughly chewed. I realized a week later that the console was called a “terminal”.
Another very good idea is to collect my favorite OpenTTD under Xubunt, but again there are no instructions that can be understood by an absolute teapot grown on Wende.
In general, the system is very pleased, I think now how to replace Venda on the main computer.
