On April 24, Microsoft finally released the long-awaited Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2007. Basically, the package includes fixing bugs and "increasing speed and stability," but there are new features:
  1. Support ODF format (OpenDocument Format)
  2. Native support for the "Save as PDF / XPS" command.
Built-in support for the ODF format in Word, Excel and PowerPoint has become the main innovation of MS Office 2007 SP2. Now Office 2007 users will be able to open, edit and save documents in OpenDocument Text (* .odt) text format, OpenDocument Spreadsheet (* .ods) spreadsheet format and OpenDocument Presentations (* .odp) presentation format.

In addition to native support for new file formats, SP2 for MS Office 2007 provides users with many other benefits. In particular, it improves the speed of response to user actions in Outlook, calendars in Outlook are more predictable. The accuracy of data retrieval in documents and Office 2007 databases has also been improved, and Outlook has gained additional functions for working with data feeds in the RSS format. Office 2007 SP2 developers also reported improved data display when saving documents in .pdf (Portable Document Format) and .xps (XML Paper Specification) formats. Re-saving files in PowerPoint 2007 is now much faster.

References:PS SP2 I installed automatically through Windows Update. The flight is normal. Although there are still some “bugs”: for some reason, when installing, associations for OpenDocument files (odt, ods, odp) were not automatically registered, there are no previews of new formats in Office Live Workspace, styles are not saved in odt.
