Last week,
someone , in his post
“Event Notifications”, presented the idea of creating a notifying service about upcoming events. As promised, has prepared an overview of this service.
Cool Dates is a service dedicated to announcements of future events. I use it for about 2.5 years.
The service allows you to get acquainted with the future events that registered users have created. Subject unlimited. This could be: a personal event (birthday of a neighbor-lover; date of the upcoming philosophy exam; date when I will speak "like a man" with a neighbor — my wife's lover); political events (upcoming elections, debates, etc.); festive events (Day of food industry, Day of the paratrooper, etc.); events related to the activities of a company (press releases, announcements of events); events related, for example, to the Zemfira group (concerts, upcoming press conferences, the release of a new album); announcements, preparing for the release of screens, films; releases of computer games, systems, programs, well, etc.
You can subscribe to events. You can receive reminder-notifications for each selected event in the mail, or subscribe to the RSS feed: for new events, for upcoming events, for service blog events and events in groups.

It is possible to place an HTML button on the event counter, for example, on your blog:
"Personal" -

,
single event counter

and, the third counter, the largest, consists of the three nearest events created by itself or events created by any selected user.

Details about the counters can be read
here , and you can create a counter by clicking on

sign next to the selected event.
It is clear that by registering, you can create your own events, subscribe to them and receive notifications by mail. And having marked his event as “Public”, users of the service can see it on specified days.
In my unbiased opinion, the service can serve as a personal notification system, as well as public, used for commercial purposes, but completely free.
If you have something to add, join.
