Swedish Internet providers supported pirates

image Tele2 provider, one of the largest in Sweden and the European Union, decided to refuse to keep information on users' IP addresses in its database, reports AFP on April 27. In Sweden, over 600 thousand people access the Internet through the company.

“From now on, we will erase IP addresses after they have been used for our internal needs,” said Niklas Palmstierna, head of the Swedish direction Tele2.

According to the Swedish authorities, this step of the provider will make it almost impossible to track pirates who download illegal music and video from the Internet.

Let me remind you that on April 1, a law was passed in Sweden, which forces providers to provide information about users who were suspected of downloading pirated materials from the Internet, at the request of the authorities. In response, another popular Swedish provider, Bahnhof, has already announced that it is not going to issue data on its customers' IP addresses and will challenge the constitutionality of such measures and the law.

Obviously, providers are trying to protect the rights of their users and support previously convicted TPB administrators, while not forgetting how much the number of customers and the popularity of companies will increase after such statements.
