First look: Silverlight 3 - free book

At the end of last year, we announced a free book in Russian, “Introduction to Microsoft Silverlight 2”. This is a translation of the famous book by Lawrence Moroni and a comprehensive guide to this technology.

But life does not stand still. As you know, the Silverlight 3 beta is already available , and the final version will be released before the end of the year.

At the MIX09 conference, free additions to this book were presented with a description of the new features of the third version. At the Russian conference ReMIX09 last week we announced the translation of this supplement into Russian, which everyone can download from the event website. Authorization is available through OpenID, LiveID or login / password.

The focus is on features such as three-dimensional transformations, working out of the browser, video support in H.264 format, working with pixel shaders.

We hope that this guide, along with the book on Silverlight 2, will allow everyone to master an interesting technology and prepare for the release of the final version of Silverlight 3.
