iPod Chief Pirate Device

On April 28, 2004 Downhill Battle published their iTunes-per-iPod project. Just divided the number of sold songs in iTunes by the number of sold iPods:

And the conclusion? The conclusion we propose to do it yourself.

What has changed in almost 5 years?

Let's try to repeat the experiment and count:

Sold the songs - 6.000.000.000 (January 6, 2009)
iPod sold - 163.000.000 (June 2008)
the data is certainly not fresh, but oh well. Total:

6.000.000.000 ÷ 163.000.000 = almost 37.

Wow, almost 37 songs on each iPod are legally downloaded. This is almost 200 megabytes.
A 200 megabytes is, by the way, almost half of the Ipod Shuffle, well, that, first. And iTunes, by the way, is the leader in music sales. Like this.
