DrWeb for Ubuntu

A friend Vadik aka key threw up an idea that he implemented, and I followed him. Maybe someone will like it too. The idea is briefly to throw the drweb32.key key from the free Dr.Web LiveCD product to “Dr.Web Anti-virus for Linux”.

To realize our plans you need:
1) Download Dr.Web LiveCD (~ 64mb) at www.freedrweb.com/livecd
You need to dig out drweb32.key from it, in principle, you can write to a disk and boot from it, copy the key to a USB flash drive, but the lazy go around.
Open the minDrWebLiveCD-5.0.0.iso image in Ubunt with the help of the Archives Manager and go to the / boot / module / directory and pull out white.mo

2) install white.mo in the Terminal
#mount -o loop -t squashfs white.mo /tmp/
and moving along the path / tmp / opt / drweb we take out drweb32.key, unmount
#umount /tmp/

Look, but do not edit the key
Expires=2010-03-07 (15:14) UTC
2010! What the doctor ordered!

3) Downloading to download.drweb.com/linux version for my OS, I took the version for Ubuntu 8.04. All downloaded files are stored in one folder, and if you have a 32-bit distribution, you can in turn poke files into the deb file with a mouse, like a gibbon stick into an anthill. I have a 64bit system, so I called the terminal and in it
#dpkg -i --force-architecture *.deb
Cursing at the inconsistency of architectures, the packages were delivered.
')
4) Copy the previously received drweb32.key key into the / opt / drweb directory and call xdrweb, you can make a shortcut to it to start from the Desktop.

5) In Dr.Web scanner, you can and should go to the Support tab and click Update, then evaluate the Last update time and Total virus signatures.

6) After checking the quality of Dr.Web, go to the store estore.drweb.com and buy the name key, thereby supporting the domestic manufacturer

Questions "why?"
A: Why antivirus for Linux?
A: Now you can check USB flash drives or directories with p2p files for Windows viruses using DrWeb for Linux. It is not good when an advanced Linux user is storing Windows viruses not for tests.

A: Why Dr.Web?
O: I agree! Better Klamav, and even better, "one head is good, and two is even better."
